Our neighborhood hosts an annual Halloween party every year. It is one of my favorite festivities held within our neighborhood, and I look forward to the party every year. It is a costume party, and we (as well as our fellow neighbors) go all out. Usually the party is hosted in one of the cul-de-sacs, complete with a DJ, an all-you-can eat buffet of chili and Chick-Fil-A nuggets, and the most competitive costume competition you have ever seen. The most coveted award: Best Family Costume. I know we probably only have a few more years before our boys decide that they no longer want to dress up with Mom and Dad, so we spend months thinking about the perfect costumes to fit our family.
This year’s costumes: astronauts! My husband even outfitted our Subaru Outback to create a space shuttle to complete the entire ensemble.
We didn’t win (again, we are 1-3!), but we had a great time celebrating this fun holiday with our kids and our neighbors.
